7-day scenic tour of South Africa coast from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth

All year round on Fridays

South coast of South Africa from Cape Town to Port

The world famous Garden Route tour is visited during our 7-day “accommodated” tour. While stopping along the most famous tourist sites along the way, you will be staying at hotels and lodges rather than camping.

As we leave Cape Town behind we drive to Stellenbosch. This town is renowned for its wines and historic splendor. After some free time to explore the Cape Dutch scenery, we drive through the majestic Outeniqua Mountains where we visit the Cango caves with its limestone caverns. We also visit an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn where the brave travelers get to meet these long necked birds. The following day we leave for Knysna and its seaside beauties.

Next we visit the Tsitsikamma National Park to enjoy canopy tours, jungle walks and blackwater tubing. This is also home to the highest bundgee jumping spot in the world. As we continue east we enjoy game drive through the Addo Elephant National Park where many wildlife can be spotted.
Finally we arrive in Port Elizabth which is our final destination and where our tour ends.

DAY 1, Cultural Cape Town to Stellenbosch

We leave Cape Town this morning so we recommend you arrive at least 1 day pre-tour. If you need help in booking extra nights and airport transfers we can assist with this.
We begin our tour with a cultural exploration of Cape Town from District Six, to the informal settlements of Langa and Khayelitsha, where traditional healers and shebeens add to the rich culture of township life. Whilst the townships are often the sites of poverty, they are also places of vibrancy and creativity. The cultural tour is operated by a local Cape Town provider and therefore this Activity Package item will be operated in smaller vehicles. If you are participating in the Cultural Tour, you will be collected from the meeting point at 0800 and will join up with your truck and crew in Cape Town after your tour. We will then make our way to the Stellenbosch region, where you will enjoy a wine and cheese tasting at one of the local wine farms. After our cheese and wine tasting, we will make our way to the town of Stellenbosch, where you can enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants and will have time to explore this vibrant university town. This evening, your guide will take you to one of the restaurants close to your accommodation for an optional dinner out. If you have chosen not to participate in the Culture Tour, you will meet the tour at 1200 today.
