This 13-day trip is a wonderful introduction to the magic of India. It is made up of a classic Golden Triangle tour combined with the holy city of Varanasi, Khajuraho and Orrcha.
The tour starts with a full day tour of Old and New Delhi before we head to Agra to visit Agra Fort and the incredible Taj Mahal at sunset. The tour then visits the ruined city of Fatehpur Sikri and enjoys a cycle rickshaw through Keoladeo National Park en-route to the Pink City of Jaipur. Here we tour the city and Amber Palace and also have some free time to explore this bustling city. Next we head into the rural arid region of Shekhawati where we stay in a classic Rajasthani heritage hotel and see the colourful outdoor frescoes painted on many of the houses. Returning to Delhi, we board the overnight train to Varanasi where we have the day free to explore and an unforgettable evening of festivities on the river Ganges followed by a day of sightseeing in Varanasi. In the morning we fly to Khajuraho to explore its ornately carved temples. The next day we drive through typical rural India to Orrcha, which seems to have changed little in the last 500 years. We spend the next day exploring this beautiful area before boarding the train back to Delhi for a final night in this vibrant city.
