This holiday of a lifetime explorers the chilly water of the South Greenland. Experience spectacular arctic landscapes along with a unique and interesting wildlife and the fascinating history of the Vikings from the safety and comfort of the specially equipped expedition vessel s/v Rembrandt van Rijn.
This arctic expedition starts in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik where we board a short flight to Narsarsuaq in Greenland. Boarding the s/v Rembrandt van Rijn we cruise through the fjords and ice-bergs first stopping at Eqaluit qeqertat and an old Thule settlement and then on to the beautiful glaciers at Qaleralik Sermia. Continuing south we will try to stop at Uunartoq, where we can bathe in a large hot spring surrounded by icebergs. Next we trace the Viking history from Herjolfsnes, where they first landed in Greenland to the famous Norse Medieval Cathedral at Hvalsey to the home of Erik the Red at Brattahlíð. Finally we arrive back at Narsarssuaq for our flight back to Iceland.
