Click here to view tour map This itinerary focuses on the ‘favourites’ of Vietnam. We have included the major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, and their surrounds, Halong Bay and the Mekong Delta, as well as an overnight journey on the Reunification Express to the heritage-listed seaside port of Hoi An.
You start with a tour of the 'Red River Delta' city of Hanoi, including all the major tourist attractions. From here you travel to the scenic beauty of Halong Bay and spend 2 days on a deluxe Junk boat visiting the limestone caves as well as sea kayaking and swimming. On your return to Hanoi you take the Reunification Express southwards to Danang - this overnight train journey is not for everybody but is a good grassroots experience (flight upgrades are available). On arrival in Danang you transfer to the culturally rich town of Hoi An to spend a few days at a slower pace. Here you can enjoy the laid back atmosphere at the beach, around town or in the tailors' cloth market. Next you fly south to Ho Chi Minh City via Danang airport. Introductions are made with a city tour and trip to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels before spending a day on the Mekong canals to see the markets, local industries and islands on the waterways.
Meet and greet at airport and transfer to your hotel.
