Click here to view country map Vietnam is a country of contrasts, from the sandy beaches of the south to the craggy beauty of Ha Long Bay and from the lush farmland of the Mekong Delta to the forested mountain ranges in the north. Mysterious temples and pagodas stand in contrast to the vibrant cities of Saigon and Hanoi. The romantic city of Hué is home to treasures of a past era, while the beach resort of Nha Trang provides the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
The cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are at the same time chaotic and captivating. The capital Hanoi is the centre of arts in Vietnam and has many excellent museums, theatres and cultural shows, while Ho Chi Minh, still widely known as Saigon, is the business hub, and no less interesting. The imperial city of Hue offers a well-preserved insight in to Vietnam's long and interesting past, whilst Nha Trang and other resort towns in the south make a great place to relax and enjoy beach life. Street life in Vietnam is unique with bustling colourful markets to visit and a myriad of tantalising restaurants, cafes and food stalls assaulting the senses. Other interesting places to visit include Da Nang, once capital of the ancient Champa dynasty, the rolling hills and tea plantations around Da Lat, and Hoi An, which has retained much of its 17th and 18th century charm.
For a more active holiday, there are plenty of options available. Hill trekking is a rewarding experience that will get you close to the traditional hill tribe villages of the north and a chance to experience a very different way of life. Mountain biking and cycling tours are a popular option along with water sport such as scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing.
Our carefully designed private holiday itineraries will give you a good taste of what’s available and can be booked exactly as they stand. Alternatively they can be used as a starting point to create a personalised, tailor-made holiday just the way you want it. Contact our specialist travel consultants to discuss your holiday ideas and let us take the effort out of planning your next holiday.
