Uganda’s unspoilt landscapes and forests are also home to many other indigenous animals including three of the ‘big five’ – lions, elephants and leopards in addition to chimpanzees, zebra, giraffe, baboons, cheetah and thousands of species of bird. Game drives can add an air of excitement to any stay in Uganda and this shouldn’t be missed. Bujagali Falls in the south, offers many thrilling experiences such as; white-water rafting, kayaking, quad biking and bungee jumps, Both Murchison Falls in the north and Lake Victoria in the south offer fantastic fishing opportunities and the chance to catch the mighty Nile Perch. Ngamba Island to the south of Entebbe is home to around 40 orphaned chimpanzees that were all saved from a life of captivity and laboratory testing. It is possible to visit the island from Entebbe and have an up-close encounter with these chimpanzees.
