Egypt & The Middle East and Europe specialist

A little background...

I realised I loved travelling when I was 10 years old on our first family trip abroad to Spain. Gradually my parents became more and more adventurous and we began travelling a little further afield to places such as Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, Israel and the Caribbean. After finishing school I decided that I would like to see more of the world and took a job working for a small independent travel company where I remained for 6 years. During my time within the travel industry my passion for travel and love of Middle Eastern culture has continued to grow and I now take every opportunity to visit and learn about new destinations (and return to the countries I love).

Since joining the 'Uncover the World' team I have returned to Egypt (on our Nile Explorer tour) and spent a month travelling around the north of Thailand.

Which regions do you specialise in?

Turkey, Egypt and the Middle East are my specialist areas - Family holidays in Turkey gave me my first real taste of Middle Eastern culture and after travelling through these countries on numerous occasions since then, I have developed a real passion for travel in this region.

What are your top 5 travel experiences?

  • Travelling through Egypt - immersing myself in the culture, learning about the history and cooling off with a swim in the Nile.
  • Trekking in Thailand – Despite finding this trip hard work (I’m not very fit!), I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the ethnic minorities of Northern Thailand.
  • Visiting the Holy Land – Israel certainly wasn’t what I expected; this is country of contrasts – the ancient streets of Jerusalem to the gleaming skyscrapers in Tel Aviv.
  • Visiting the mud baths and enjoying a cold ‘Efes’ on the beach at Dalyan in Turkey.
  • Watching the world go by whilst relaxing on the beaches at Taba in Egypt.

What would your dream holiday include?

  • See - Interesting sites and diverse landscapes
  • Do - Something exciting which makes my heart race
  • Hear - New languages, music and the buzz of my destination
  • Taste - Local cuisine and (hopefully) learn how to cook it back at home
  • Enjoy - Everything!!
